New Year or New Day

One day at a time, 2010 went by. Now it is 2011. My advice- take the bull by the horns. Live life like normal. It's not about the whole year. It is how you spent your days that matters. I have learned that although a New Year means another birthday and another Halloween, life happens everyday. I'm not gonna sit around and waste it. To me January 1st is a checkpoint. It is a day to look back at how you spent the year, improve the way you will spend this year, and go on. It is not a clean slate because what happened happened, and that will not change. However, you can change the future. If something bad happened last year, then don't let it happen again. So, yes, you can't change the past, but the future is all yours. Live life day by day. I have never heard someone say, "Live life year by year." You can move on. Not just from something that happened last year but from something that happened yesterday, too. My point is that a year is so big you can't possibly live year by year. It's better to focus on what is happening now, and though 2011 is happening now, so is today. Which one's better to live by?
